Life Member Allan Scott receives Waverley Council awardWe are pleased to inform members that Honorary Life Member Allan Scott (a.k.a. The Bondi Blogger) was recently awarded a Mayoral Commendation in the Community Volunteer category of the 2018 Waverley Council Local Hero Awards. This followed a personal nomination initiated by member John Turner, an early morning swimmer associate of Allan, which was endorsed by the Club Executive. The nomination focused on Allan’s 50-year plus continuous contribution to our Club’s operations by his organizing of various fundraising efforts, large and small, and support for Club activities. The award was accepted on Allan’s behalf by two of his children, Harriett and Duncan, in a ceremony at Easts Leagues Club on 23 May 2018. Allan has not been in good health of late and was unable to attend the awards function. Deputy President Pep Font represented the Club. – Rod Harvey Members may have noticed the absence of the Bondi Blogger’s ‘Unreliable History’ segments in the Bondi Surfer over recent months. Unfortunately our Blogger mate, Allan Scott, is currently unwell. We send our best wishes to him and his family.
