Bondi Surf Race Report
Week 22- 24 February 2019
Up early again & joined theeffervescentJanet & her Patrol on a miserable morning. This did not stop the Patrol from acting as if it was a busy day. The wind cut through your gear & the beach was littered with luminous blue bottles all along the shore line. The water was a greasy gray blue, with white water chopped up in a mixed up swell for the first fifty metres & after that a very dangerous breaking wave that was constant in its inconsistency, with the occasional large eight feet wave bursting through.
After much deliberation the race was cancelled, however, this did not stop even S Grades getting wet.
Last week the results were not included, so I have added them to the top of the report.
Hopefully next week it will be a better week. Unless hit by a bus, I will be there & hopefully you will be too.
BONDI AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB – Is always looking for new members, irrespective of their ability. We can promise two things; you will improve over the season & have a lot of fun doing so. If interested, please come down by 9.15 Saturday morning & see what it is like. They also have “learn to swim classes” for any member who cannot swim & this has been extended to adults. Should you want more info, please speak to me or Sandra Hallam, at the races or whenever.
