Wow, ONE YEAR of Bondi Silver

Wow, ONE YEAR of Bondi Silver Salties Walk & Talk. First NSW Club. Silver Salties is a way for older Australians to connect socially and get some physical activity. It was designed by SLSA in conjunction with SLSC’s. Wild Weather Wednesday Warriors With Wild Waves one week and Whales, Seals, indigenous carvings of whales, seals and sunshine the next. Friendship, laughter, tears, dancing, swimming, walk & talk. Thanks to Heart Cafe making the walks more worthwhile. We have had special guests, Surf Life Saving Australia President Graham Ford, SLSA CEO Adam Weir, Dave Sharma MP Wentworth, Graham Anson minister of Wayside Chapel, Walangari and our very own Bondi Surf Club President Brent and Laura Thurtell Silver Salties SLSA ambassador. Holly Jean, Sarah Forde have been regulars helping, thanks. Join us

Do you have objects that help

Do you have objects that help tell the Bondi Surf Club story?
The Club archives is endeavouring to gather as many important items for display in the proposed museum and create a public collection for future generations to come. We are looking for objects such as old equipment, surf craft, plaques, trophies, apparel and publications that tell the story of our great club history.

Are you able to help identify existing archival photographs?
We will be holding 2 photo identification Morning Teas. With the help of long term club members, we aim to identify people, places and events in unnamed photos from yesteryear. Please come and enjoy a morning of nostalgia & help us improve the accuracy of our collection.
The morning teas will be held before the AGM- 25 July from 12pm-1.30pm & before the Legends Lunch date TBA.

Be part of the Archives Team

It’s Groundhog Day….

The club will be closed to members from 4pm tonight except for emergency callouts, rescue training (formal approved activities only – outdoors in groups <10), and club duties (specified by a Director). This will remain in place until the stay-at-home order is lifted. This is to ensure that the club is available for essential emergency and lifesaving activities, and to protect members. Today the NSW government has introduced stay-at-home orders for at least one week for those who live in, or whose usual place of work is in, Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney Councils. Due to the risk associated with an increasing number of exposure venues where transmission has occurred, from 11.59pm tonight until at least 11.59pm on Friday 2 July, residents of, or people whose usual place of work is in, the four LGAs must stay at home unless it is fo r an essential reason. The reasons you may leave your home include: Shopping for food or other essential goods and services; Medical care or compassionate needs; Exercise outdoors in groups of 10 or fewer; Essential work, or education, where you cannot work or study from home. If you attend club for any reason you MUST use the QR code registration. There can be no tailgating with other members entry, and no non-members. These rules have been in place for a long time but are now vital to ensure that tracing activities can be completed. Some specifics to be clear: Club access via members tags is not allowed, even if your tag works you are not to access t he club unless you are on a formally approved emergency callout, training or director lead club duty. Changerooms are closed. Steam Room is closed. Club Gymnasium is closed. Classes - Pilates & Zumba are cancelled. Yellow Boards - is cancelled. Any other activity - assume cancelled until you get a communication otherwise. Office - will be operating remotely - for requests Thanks,
