No Lives Lost at Bondi Beach

Month: November 2022

We need your help at 2pm today

We need your help at 2pm today!

This afternoon at 2pm (first off the blocks), a team from the club will pitch to get $1m towards the museum component of the renovation.

We would like as many people there as possible in person or online at 2pm (the link to the online will be sent out to registered attendees).

At the end of the presentations there will be a voting period, and people who have registered in person or online will be able to vote – we also try to send around an SMS with a link to this voting platform the second we get it.

Please help us today to make sure we have as many votes as we can. Please join us at 2pm after registering on the below link

You can register for the online here – https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/heritage-pitchfest-2022-tickets-443897698967

The family, friends and member

The family, friends and members of the Bondi Surf Club paid tribute and celebrated the wonderful memory and life of Tanja Jackson at a moving ceremony held at the Club on Saturday 26 November 2022. Fine speeches and an excellent slide show were followed by a sometimes breath-taking ashes scattering conducted via an IRB crewed by Brent and Jack Jackson. Farewll Tanja. Tim Read

Betty’s Burgers are very excit

Betty’s Burgers are very excited to announce they will be opening their new restaurant on Bondi Beach soon.

They would love to invite Bondi SBLSC Members to pop in between 6-8pm on their pre-opening eve on Saturday 19 November to grab a takeaway burger.

A reminder that you will need proof of membership/volunteer status to redeem on the night, 1 burger per person and while stocks last.

We lower our flag today to pay

We lower our flag today to pay our respects to Tanya Jackson.

Born 14.4.71 (51) in Canberra, wife to Brent, mother of Jack, sister to Amanda and Michelle, daughter of Sanya Ritchie and Eric Mawson.

Tanya lived her life with passion and purpose, and loved watching her son grow into a man. She passed away at home this morning surrounded by family and friends.

Tanya was a long service member, Vice Captain of Craven Patrol, one of our first female Vice Presidents (’03), scanner of the Annual Reports, Historic photos, Bondi Surfers and Doins, driver of the 100 year book and surf club museum projects, and a proud runner up in the 2003 Mike Shearman.

Funeral service at Bondi Surf Club, date to be advised.
Tanya requested no flowers, but welcomes donations to the surf club for the Museum.

The ninth running of the BSC L

The ninth running of the BSC Legends Lunch took place on 28 October 2022 and was attended by over 330 guests. The lunch was a great success, the food, drink and service excellent and the speakers, Rob Whittaker, Kerry O Keefe and Jimmy Koch very interesting and entertaining. Tony Squires as MC, Speaker, Interviewer and Ringmaster was superb as always.
The success of the lunch which raises a considerable amount of money for the Club is a tribute to the organisational skills and hard work of the Committee who have put so much time and effort into it over the years. Tim Read
