There was a lot of laughing go

There was a lot of laughing going on last night in the Blue Room, I guess that’s understandable considering there were 4 outstanding comedians in D house….Comedy for a Cause was a hoot. Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported the club-building fundraising efforts. Thanks to Matt Wakefield from Comedy For A Cause 👏👍
Also a big thank you to my wonderful marketing crew, Lucy Jennings, Gino and the other volunteers. 👏👍👏👏
There will be more of these events coming up through the off-season.
The next major event will be the end-of-season Ball on the 27th of May Venue and event theme TBC …watch this space

Bondi win the Australian Maste

Bondi win the Australian Masters championships
Congratulations to our master’s team for winning our sixth consecutive Australian Masters Championship!
We went to Perth with our smallest team (just 24 competitors) in recent years and it seemed that it would be difficult to pull off another win against the strong home teams in WA. But this small and mighty team didn’t give up and fought for every point throughout the week.
Thank you to all our competitors — starting with everyone who competed in the ocean swim to give us a lead on Sunday. We had many outstanding performances in both individual and team events in the water and on the beach.
After the flags on Tuesday, it looked like we could finish just short. But our amazing surfing team of Harries, Simon Nothling, Amanda Cooper, Steve Hackers, Julie Pritchard and Louise Santos stayed strong to the very end to bring home the championships.
Thanks to Nick for his unwavering belief that we could achieve such great results. Thanks to Steve Hackers and Julie Pritchard and our team at home who helped get the container loaded. Thank you and congratualtions to each person on this team. Despite illness and injury, you all performed to your best, again and again. Everyone helped out and cheered our team on. It was your team spirit and camaraderie that made it such a special week. We’re all proud to be part of this club and family.
Congratulations to Harries for winning the open long board and short board riding events 🥇🥇
