The 82nd running of the Stan Mac took place on Sunday 24 March 2024 on a clear blue sunny day. North Bondi hosted the tightly contested event which resulted in a win for Bondi by a margin of 13 seconds. Congratulations to the team which swam to their utmost, to Dori and Nick and all those behind the scenes who provided the support to make it a memorable event. Tim Read

🎉🌊 We’re thrilled to announce the successful implementation of the first BONDI Surf Life-saving Advanced IRB Skills Program! 🚤

Huge applause to Nixy Krite for leading the charge and to the 13 dedicated members who kicked off the session bright and early at 5:30 am. 🌅

Throughout the day, our members delved into crucial theory covering rock rescue safety, towing techniques, SAREX and other advanced IRB skills. But it wasn’t all theory! We dove into practical exercises including IRB rescue scenarios, navigating rock shelves, patient recoveries, towing drills, and more. 🚣‍♂️

From mastering IRB reversing to coordinating rescue efforts with the Jet Ski, it was a day filled with learning, teamwork, and, of course, plenty of fun! 🏊‍♂️💪

This program marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to upskill all our IRB members, ensuring everyone at Bondi SBLSC is continuously engaged and empowered with the latest techniques and knowledge. Here’s to many more successful sessions ahead! 🌟
