Members Protection

At Bondi Surf Club, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every member is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. Our club supports the principles of the Surf Life Saving Australia and Surf Life Saving NSW Member Protection Policy and is dedicated to ensuring that all members can participate in surf lifesaving free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, abuse and inappropriate behaviour.

We believe that every member has the right to feel safe and valued, regardless of their age, gender, cultural background, ability, religion or personal circumstances. We expect all members, volunteers, officials, coaches, age managers, trainers and visitors to uphold the highest standards of conduct and to contribute to a positive club culture.

Bondi Surf Club promotes a child-safe environment and is committed to protecting the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people. We encourage all members to speak up if they have concerns about behaviour that does not reflect our values or breaches Surf Life Saving policies.

As part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to governance, child safety and compliance obligations, all members aged 18 years and over are required to hold a current Working With Children Check. This is an important responsibility we share as a community organisation working closely with young people and families. Our Member Protection team is available to provide confidential guidance and support to members. This includes our Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) and Child Safe Coordinator, who are trained to assist members, provide information about available options and help ensure concerns are managed fairly, respectfully and in accordance with Surf Life Saving Australia's Member Protection, Child Safe and Complaints Resolution policies.
